W Industries employs AWS certified welders. With a dedicated training program, which provides complete welder training and certification, W Industries meets the needs of both government and civilian customer weld requirements.

 

This training facility is a separate 4000sq/ft facility dedicated solely for welder training. This facility includes 16 workstations with GMAW, GMAW-P, FCAW, SMAW and GTAW capability. A quiet lecture area, 1/2" x 10' plate shear, plasma cutting and oxy-fuel cutting equipment are also in place. W has two full time, highly qualified training instructors with 50+ years of experience. W Industries provides ongoing training for associates and certifies them to such weld codes as AWS D1.1, D1.2, B2.1, MIL-STD-1941, and TARDEC Ground Combat Vehicle Welding Code. Other welding codes such as API 1104 and specific customer codes can be incorporated into the training and certification program.

 

To date, W Industries has certified over 200 associates on welding an array of metals including armor, various steel grades and aluminum. The instructors perform visual, radiographic, bend tests, fillet weld break and macro-etch tests and provide records of certification for each associate. The instructors are onsite to consult and provide solutions to production weld issues as they arise. Our internal training program allows our welders to train formally with our in-house AWS weld engineers to provide continuous improvement of their skills. We can accommodate the most stringent of customer required weld qualifications.
